Description

Eyeball Jello Shots are a fun and spooky party treat that combine strawberry-flavored gelatin with vodka, topped with gummy eyeball candies for a creepy yet delicious presentation. Perfect for Halloween parties or themed gatherings, these jello shots are easy to prepare and sure to be a hit.

Ingredients

Scale

Jello Shots

  • 3 ounce box Strawberry Jell-O gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water
  • ½ cup vodka
  • 12 gummy eyeball candies

Instructions

  1. Dissolve gelatin: In a large bowl with a pour spout, add the strawberry gelatin mix and boiling water. Whisk thoroughly until the gelatin is completely dissolved with no lumps remaining.
  2. Add cold water and vodka: Whisk in the cold water and vodka until fully combined, ensuring an even mixture.
  3. Fill cups: Arrange twelve 2-ounce jello shot cups on a rimmed tray to prevent spills. Carefully pour the strawberry jello mixture into each cup up to the fill line, leaving about â…› inch of space below the cup rim.
  4. Initial chilling: Place the tray in the refrigerator for 1 to 1½ hours until the jello shots are partially set but still soft enough to press the gummies in.
  5. Add eyeball candies: Gently place one gummy eyeball candy on top of each partially set jello shot. Return the tray to the refrigerator and chill for an additional 1½ hours to overnight until fully set and firm.
  6. Store and serve: Once fully set, cover each cup with lids if available and keep them refrigerated until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Use a rimmed tray to avoid spills when transferring cups to the refrigerator.
  • Allow enough chilling time for the jello shots to be partially set before adding gummy eyeballs to prevent sinking.
  • The vodka can be adjusted slightly based on desired strength.
  • Use 2-ounce cups for perfectly portioned shots.
  • Store the jello shots in the refrigerator to maintain firmness and freshness.
