Scale
Ingredients
- 12 pieces corn tortillas (6-inch, white preferred), fresh quality
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, neutral flavor
- Fine salt to taste (sea salt recommended)
Instructions
- Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush both sides of each corn tortilla with vegetable oil evenly to ensure they crisp up nicely during baking.
- Cut: Stack the oiled tortillas and cut the entire pile into sixths, creating triangular chip shapes.
- Season: Arrange the tortilla chips in a single layer on baking sheets. Sprinkle the chips evenly with fine sea salt to taste.
- Bake: Bake the chips in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Rotate the baking sheets once midway through baking to ensure even golden color and crispiness. Remove once chips are golden and crisp.
Notes
- For extra flavor, try seasoning with chili powder, cumin, or garlic powder before baking.
- Make sure to brush the oil evenly to avoid soggy spots.
- Store cooled chips in an airtight container for up to 3 days to maintain crispness.
- If preferred, you can use yellow corn tortillas as an alternative to white.
