Description

A simple, flavorful Honey Mustard Baked Salmon recipe featuring a tangy and sweet mustard glaze, baked to tender perfection. Perfect for a quick, healthy dinner that pairs beautifully with roasted vegetables, rice, or a crisp salad.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)

Honey Mustard Sauce

  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons whole grain mustard
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • Lemon slices for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the oven and salmon: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a baking dish. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and place them skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  2. Make the honey mustard glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, whole grain mustard, honey, lemon juice, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and black pepper until smooth and well combined.
  3. Coat the salmon: Spoon and spread the honey mustard mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet, making sure each piece is thoroughly coated for maximum flavor.
  4. Bake the salmon: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the salmon for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets, until the salmon easily flakes with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  5. Broil for caramelization (optional): For a slightly caramelized and golden top, switch the oven to broil and broil the salmon for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  6. Rest and garnish: Remove the salmon from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and lemon slices if desired before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute maple syrup for honey for a slightly different flavor profile.
  • For extra crispy edges, bake the salmon on a wire rack placed over the baking sheet.
  • This dish pairs wonderfully with roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
