Ingredients
Scale
Salmon
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
Honey Mustard Sauce
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons whole grain mustard
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Garnish
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- Lemon slices for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the oven and salmon: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a baking dish. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and place them skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Make the honey mustard glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, whole grain mustard, honey, lemon juice, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and black pepper until smooth and well combined.
- Coat the salmon: Spoon and spread the honey mustard mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet, making sure each piece is thoroughly coated for maximum flavor.
- Bake the salmon: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the salmon for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets, until the salmon easily flakes with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Broil for caramelization (optional): For a slightly caramelized and golden top, switch the oven to broil and broil the salmon for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- Rest and garnish: Remove the salmon from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and lemon slices if desired before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute maple syrup for honey for a slightly different flavor profile.
- For extra crispy edges, bake the salmon on a wire rack placed over the baking sheet.
- This dish pairs wonderfully with roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
