Ingredients
Scale
Salmon and Glaze
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons whole grain mustard
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Garnish
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- Lemon slices for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Arrange Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels, then place them skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
- Make Honey Mustard Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, whole grain mustard, honey, fresh lemon juice, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and black pepper until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Coat Salmon: Spoon the honey mustard glaze evenly over the top of each salmon fillet, spreading gently to cover the surface completely.
- Bake Salmon: Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
- Broil for Caramelization (Optional): For a slightly caramelized top, switch your oven to broil and cook the salmon for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- Rest and Garnish: Remove the salmon from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and lemon slices before serving to add freshness and color.
Notes
- You can substitute maple syrup for honey for a different flavor profile.
- For extra crisp edges, bake the salmon on a wire rack placed over the baking sheet.
- This recipe pairs wonderfully with roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
